Orkid Cosmetics Matte Suede Liquid Lipsticks Review

Liquid Lipsticks has been very famous and loved by all the beauty junkies for the past few years! I can say that the popularity of the bullet lipsticks has been decreased a lot ever since liquid lipsticks has been invented.

If you haven't own any liquid lipsticks yet, keep reading cause the Orkid Cosmetics' Liquid Lipsticks that I'm about to introduce could be your very first liquid lipsticks!

There are several famous brands in US that has good and affordable price, like one of the most famous one is Colourpop. But one thing that will never make me purchase it is the shipping cost and duration, unless it's during their free international shipping promo!

Glad that Malaysia has our own version of 'Colourpop' now which is this Orkid Cosmetics and I don't need to wait so long anymore!

Anyway, if you read my previous post, you know that I received all these 4 shades during The Butterfly Project's 4th Birthday Party. Big thanks to Orkid Cosmetic for being one of the big sponsor and give all of us these!

And if you have watched my video on my goodie bag unboxing, you know that I'm giving away one of these liquid lipsticks to my beloved readers & viewers, the Pinkyies with your favourite shade! Click here to find out how to win one of these!'

But before joining the giveaway, you might wanna keep reading this post to find out which is your favourite shade right? :)

Orkid Cosmetics is a global trendsetting Halal cosmetic brand for the modern Muslim and conscious women. They provide affordable high-quality Halal beauty products made fresh from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Their products are 100% cruelty-freevegan and wudu-friendly.

Their liquid lipstick is a high-fashion matte finish which covers the lips in a rich colour. It was said to be not sticky and non-transferable (given that if you don't eat oily/greasy food). Their lipsticks were all added Vitamin E so it also moisturizes the lips.

The texture of this lipstick is liquidy, not too thick and easily dries up. But even though it's not thick, the colour is very rich and pigmented!

The angled wand that's common in most of the liquid lipsticks make it easy to glide on the lips.

Shades I got here are:

I have a video here showing the colour applied on my lips:

Vibes (Nude)

Turnt (Warm Chocolate)

Mars (Deep Rose)

Blush (Nude Pink)

My thoughts

Tried to wear them out to work for the whole day and I'm so surprised that the lipstick holds onto my lips until almost the end of the day! I did eat slightly oily food and the inner part does come off after eating, leaving the line of my lips with the colours.

In terms of drying or not, I have to compare this with Colourpop. I understand that matte lipsticks tend to be very dry on the lips, and everyone suggest us to use lip balm beforehand if you don't want it to be too dry on the lips. Colourpop one was super dry and cracky on my lips which I felt uncomfortable, but I'm surprised that Orkid Cosmetics' one doesn't really crack even though it feels dry.

I personally love all 4 colours on me! Even though I always prefer non-nude colours on me, I'm surprised that I love Vibes & Blush which are both nude colours!

At a price of only MYR 39, I have to rate this product 9.5/10 cause everything is great with this product, and comparing to those in Sephora, it's cheap!! I'm already eyeing on the shade Chicky Baby on my next purchase!

This is rather a new company so they only have matte lipsticks collection. I would love to see more new colours and collections and even other cosmetics like eye shadows & blushers in the future!

Why do I said that Orkid Cosmestics is the Malaysian version of Colourpop is because
  • When you first entered their website, the design reminds me of Colourpop! Even their box packaging does.
  • Their lipstick packaging are quite similar as well. Okay that's actually the basic design for liquid lipstics.

So what do you guys think? Will you purchase them? :)

  2. Hey, Dear! This post seems really helpful for me. Thank you so much for this post. I was looking for Halal or you can say Wudhu friendly makeups, while doing my makeup lessons from Lina Cameron, for the first time I hear about Halal makeup from a Muslim friend of mine, who was also doing her makeup lesson. She suggest me few items from this brand! I bought few shades from this brand, they are really comfortable and pigmented! <3
